USG for Translation
I have always been passionate about travelling, discovering new cultures and learning languages. As I am also interested in a wide range of very diverse subjects, from aviation, sports and books to art, music and – of course – international relations, translation seemed a good compromise to me. After living in Switzerland and England, I took the opportunity to travel during my studies, which helped me broaden my horizons; I spent one semester in Spain and one in Austria before coming back to Geneva. I translate from English, German and Spanish into French and I have now done internships in several organisations as well as a few freelance jobs.
I joined GIMUN in 2014 as a translator for the blog and took part in the 2016 Annual Conference. It was such a great experience that I wanted to get more involved and it is an honour to be the Under-Secretary-General for translation. In collaboration with other passionate members, I hope my skills and experience will contribute to the success of the 2017 Annual Conference, no matter what your mother tongue is.
