USG for Press

Hey everyone! My name is Ashlee and I am from Boston, Massachusetts. I am a (double) graduate of Northeastern University where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs with minors in Political Science, International Security and Global Social Entrepreneurship. In 2017, I completed my Master’s degree in Global Studies and International Relations with a concentration in Conflict Resolution. Throughout my undergraduate career, I participated in three international studies programs that focused on a variety of issues: Bali, Indonesia (social entrepreneurship, poverty, immigration and field research), Geneva, Switzerland (disarmament diplomacy, international security and international humanitarian law) and Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic (social enterprise, education and community development). I was introduced to GIMUN in 2014 and becoming a journalist at the 2015 conference was one of the best/easiest decisions I have ever made! I became a journalist again at the 18th annual conference in 2017. I am grateful that I had the incredible opportunity to meet, work alongside and get to know students from all over the world at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva! I am excited about being an Under-Secretary-General for Press this year and I look forward to helping our press team create and develop an awesome newspaper that everyone will enjoy and remember. See you at #GIMUNAC18!
