USG for Committee Management
My name is Aikaterini-Paraskevi Karamanli but everyone calls me Evina. I’m a graduate of the Department of International, European and Area Studies at Panteion University in Athens, Greece, with a major in International Law. I also hold a MSc. Global Health Implementation from the University of St. Andrews. In the past, I have been an intern at the Special Legal Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic and the European Public Law Organisation. Having discovered my passion for international organisation and institutions, my participation in Moot Court Competitions and United Nations Models felt only as a natural choice.
GIMUN is a unique experience with high academic quality and professional organisation. One of the things that make it special is that it is the only conference that takes place at the United Nations Office at Geneva, asking for the voice of the citizens of the world on serious topics of today’s international agenda that affect our lives; and this is where your role as the new diplomats and future leaders of the world begins… Thus, my only advice to you would be to participate as much as you can. Prepare well, research, put forward your arguments at their very best and make your voice heard; but always abide by the rules. I wish you all an unforgettable experience and, of course, a lot of new friends!
I look forward to meeting you all!
