The ambassador position is unique at GIMUN and more challenging than a delegate position. Applying for this position requires MUN experience and we are looking for motivated candidates who wish to use their skills in a more high-level position.
As an ambassador, you will act as a representative for one of the P5 countries (China, France, Russia, United Kingdom, United States). It is your responsibility is to keep an overview of the performance of the P5 delegates in all six committees by advising them and making sure they adhere to their country’s policy. You will support your country’s delegates by advocating for your interests and negotiating with other delegates to implement your country’s priorities in the decisions. The overall aim of the committee is to pass a constructive and comprehensive solution, so this is your chance to work on a diversity of challenging topics, all while taking on a different perspective!
The ambassador does not replace the delegates in the committees, but is there to help and support them in their work. The ambassador can make general speeches and speeches of high importance for the debate, so this is a unique chance to improve your debating and speaking skills in a challenging environment!
Our debates take place in a truly remarkable setting: the Palais de Nations, European headquarters of the United Nations, which makes the debates even more realistic. GIMUN is a bilingual conference where you can communicate in either French or English with the help of skilled translators and interpreters.
Of course, no MUN would be complete without social events, so we also organise fun evening activities where you can get to know students from all over the world.
The conference fee of 205 CHF includes access to all social events, lunch vouchers with a total value of 40 CHF, and all conference material. So come join us to spend an extraordinary week at the UN Offices in Geneva!
Please note that only university students aged over 18 can apply for this position.
